Chef Shack Ranch Sets Date for Soft Open

In more restaurant news, the Chef Shack Ranch in Seward has announced that it will have a soft open this coming Friday (12/13) and Saturday (12/14) from 5-10 p.m.

The Chef Shack Ranch plans to serve up hearty American fare – pulled pork with hand-cut fries, burgers, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, mini-doughnuts, pies, and ice cream. Co-owner Carrie Summer told the Star Tribune that their inspiration was “modern urban truck stop.”

Chef Shack food trucks can be found at events around the Twin Cities, most notably at the Kingfield Farmers Market. In October 2012, owners Carrie Summer and Lisa Carlson opened their first permanent Chef Shack location in Bay City, WI. Its new Franklin Avenue location will provide staff with enough room to prep food for service at the Ranch and the fleet of Chef Shack trucks.

In the past, the building has been a revolving door of restaurants. The Seward Civic and Commerce Association thinks that the Chef Shack Ranch is the right fit for the space with it’s “intense loyalty from their food truck customers that will be drawn to this spot that says in one place, a newly revamped kitchen and redecorated interior, and a high quality dining experience for a reasonable price….”
