Snow Emergency Declared

And so it begins – Minneapolis has declared a snow emergency, with parking restrictions in effect beginning at 9 p.m. tonight (Dec 4, 2013).

Snow Emergency Parking Restrictions (from the City of Minneapolis website):

Today (9 p.m. – 8 a.m.)

No parking on a Snow Emergency Routes. Park on either side of a non-snow emergency route (look for the Snow Emergency Route sign). Once the street has been fully plowed, you can park on a snow emergency street.

Thursday (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.)

No parking on the even side of non-Snow Emergency Routes (e.g., house address number 1360 Maple or 2514 17th Ave.). Parking is allowed on snow emergency routes. No parking on parkways. After the street is fully plowed, feel free to park on the odd side of the street.

Friday (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.)

No parking on the odd side of non-Snow Emergency Routes (e.g., house address number: 1355 Maple or 2513 17th Ave.). Parking is allowed on snow emergency routes and parkways. After the street is fully plowed, feel free to park on the even side of the street.

Snow Emergency AppToo much to remember? There’s an app for that. Minneapolis has a Snow Emergency app for iPhone and Android that tells you the parking restrictions for each day to avoid a ticket or tow.
