Minne-ha-ha Falls of Fun

 The lumbering skeleton captured the attention of children in costume as he walked around Minnehaha Park.

Minnehaha Park had unusual visitors on Saturday. Princesses, witches, zombies, astronauts, lions, and all other sorts of animals and people – dead and undead – came out to enjoy the festivities at the Park. The Halloween party was hopping with two bouncy houses, Sesame Street where children could get treats from Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch, a Star Wars themed game of musical chairs, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and hearing scary stories, a fortune teller, a DJ, and other fun activities.

Changes Coming to East Lake Street

“East Lake Street will see a lot of action in the next six-to-twelve months that will make you very happy” said Andrew Johnson, Longfellow Community Council (LCC) president, at the Council’s meeting on Tuesday night.

Ruff Competition in the 2012 Seven Oaks Oval Dog Show

Yesterday local dogs strutted their stuff at the second annual Seven Oaks Oval Best in Show event in Longfellow’s Cooper/Howe neighborhood. This yearly event is sponsored by Enterprise Realty, and each year the proceeds are donated to a chosen cause. This year’s show was a fundraiser for Minnesotans United for All Families. The eight doggie contestants competed in categories such as Best Up Tail, Best Down Tail, Most Obedient, Best Dressed, Best Trick, Mr. or Ms. Congeniality, Doesn’t Give a Crap, and Best in Show.
